The Fallen

The Fallen are only fallen to us.
They rest in blessed peace
And are risen in God's almighty glory.

They fought those they should not have had to fight,
In wars that should never have broken out.
That we remember what they asked of us,
Is the least we can do,
So that war is no more and all around is peace.

We have not learnt the lesson of the centuries,
The history lessons affect us no more,
Across the world the nations are still fighting,
And we do not care and it no longer scares.

Each year we say that we will remember.
Each year we say that war must end and be no more.
Each year we say these words
Yet wars do happen more and more.

If this is the state of the world when we claim that we'll remember,
What state will it be in if we forget?
The lethargy of the human race
Allows for war to fill the space.

This November don't forget
To actually remember!
Not just one day but all the days
For it is time we changed our ways
Before it's too late!1
